Disconnecting Electric Service

Moving or Changing Retail Providers

Please see our Starting, Stopping or Moving Service page for guidance when you want service in a home or business that has the electricity connected.

Temporary Disconnections

Please contact your retail provider – the company that bills you – if you wish to temporarily disconnect the equipment providing electric service to you.

Your retail provider will make arrangements with us on your behalf.

Common examples of when a temporary-disconnection request may be made:

  • when construction work will be done on a building.
  • when trees near our equipment are to be trimmed.

Permanent Disconnections

Contact us if you would like to permanently disconnect electric service from your property, including removing the meter and other TNMP equipment.
