LED Street Lighting Project in La Marque

La Marque, Texas

Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) and the City of La Marque are working together to replace streetlights throughout the city with LED streetlights.

La Marque
“As the City of La Marque continues to grow and develop, we want to make sure that we are executing the best practices for our citizens. One of the major concerns voiced by our citizens at the beginning of the year was street lighting. We have listened and continue to make these dreams a reality. These LED lights not only provide a better and brighter sense of your surroundings at night for safety purposes, but they also require less power,” said J.B. Pritchett, Public Relations for the City of La Marque.

A little over 75 streetlights have been replaced thus far, as part of a streetlight replacement project in La Marque, Texas. At the end of completion, 270 streetlights will be replaced.

The work is being done in phases. The first area to have streetlights replaced was an historical part of the city. The next phase will include the police station, fire station, city hall, and the elementary school.

This is a multi-year project.
