Power Grants Opening Soon for 2022

LEWISVILLE, Texas – Applications open soon for qualifying nonprofits for 2022 TNMP Power Grants, made possible by the TNMP Fund.

A total of $142,000 will be available for grants that strengthen communities served by Texas-New Mexico Power. Individual grants will continue to be funded for amounts up to $10,000.

“We’re always eager to learn about the projects that our local organizations will be proposing,” said Neal Walker, TNMP President.

Community benefits

Grants can be used by qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations in TNMP’s service area, including those affiliated with schools, to fund a broad variety of projects, including (but not limited to):

•    community safety
•    community outreach
•    economic development
•    education

Grants from the endowed Foundation, TNMP Fund, will be available in amounts between $2,000 to $10,000. Applicants are encouraged to apply only for the amounts needed to fund their projects.

Nineteen projects were funded a total of $140,000 through TNMP Power Grants in 2021.

TNMP is a lines-and-poles company, delivering power to more than 260,000 homes and businesses. About 400 employees work in more than 20 communities across Texas.

Eligibility and applying

Qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations serving communities in TNMP's territory are eligible to apply, including those affiliated with schools.

Organizations can look at their monthly retail electric bills, the faces of the electric meters at their premises, or our service territory maps on tnmp.com to find out if TNMP is their transmission and distribution utility.

The application window is September 7 to 21. Funding will be completed later in the year.
